Born in Hollywood, California, her father, Robert Applegate was a record producer and her mother, Nancy Priddy is an actress-singer. Her parents split up after she was born and her dad remarried. Her height is 1.65m. Christina has a step sister, Alisa who is her best friend and a step brother Kyle. Applegate quit school at age 17 to pursue acting. She still studies jazz and dance. She enjoys reading books about spirituality. She is friends with actresses Nicole Eggert and Gwyneth Paltrow. On October 20, 2001, she married longtime boyfriend Johnathon Schaech in a small Palm Springs ceremony attended by family and close friends.
She became known to a larger audience when, from 1987 to 1997, she played Kelly Bundy in the television sitcom Married... with Children. From 1998 to 2000, she starred in her own sitcom called Jesse.
